Dunning Kruger Effect

Maybe a bit out of left field but here is a link to a recent 4 minute audio clip from the ABC Science Show on the Dunning Kruger Effect, which seems pervasive in Martial Arts circles. Its an interesting psychological phenomena where we tend to overestimate our capacity despite our ineptitude in a given field. Here is the link to the wikipedia reference for this observation. And the opposite effect is also true where you often meet the best guys and they wholly underestimate their ability. Makes for interesting reading and listening. I found this particularly relevant having read Matt Thornton's blog post from late last year where he again highlights the concept of Aliveness and how it relates to critical and rationale thinking in Martial Arts training and life in general. Heavy stuff.
