Champions Cup Trip October
Need to start getting organized for this trip. The plan is to fly out Friday 3rd October at 8pm and return Sunday 5th October by 1pm. Airfares will be aprox $100-120 each way. Staying at the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Hobart which is a short trip to the tournament venue. Rooms are about $150 per nite. Obviously possible to share rooms. So me thinks its about $500 for the weekend plus tournament entry fees. Would like to get numbers and payments organised by mid July. So for those of you who are interested in the trip please let me know because to get the best deals it will need to be paid for in advance. Brett from Ringwood is keen to join us and act as tour guide after working in Tasmania for many years.

Dominance MG Winter Tournament
Just finished watching the footage of the competition. Well done. Some great transitions and finishes for everyone. Rick and Dan have popped their competition cherry and looked primed for more tournaments in the future. Dan going for flying armbars and choking guys from underneath is pretty cool. Competing in white belt can be a mixed bag because over those first 2 years of training you can get some pretty seasoned competitors. And your not sure what your dealing with sometimes until you get your hands on them.Am very proud of the effort and overall the execution of skills from top, guard and standing was excellent. Some basic errors here and there but thats competition. Great to see guys getting in some match practice, developing a game plan and learning from the experience. We are starting to build a good team. I will bring my laptop into training to review each of the matches. Smithy's timing is impeccable as always, beats Dave on points and is off the mat now until his knee recovers. This gives him bragging rights for at least a month. Good thinking 99. Thanks to the Dominance crew for hosting another event.

Kron Gracie Mundial Match
This is Kron Gracie's first match as a black belt after recently being promoted to this rank by his father Rickson. Kron had an amazing winning streak coming into this tourney of over 30 wins but taps here to the eventual winner from Alliance. The crowd reaction is nuts to a first round match. Anytime a Gracie taps its big news.

Take the time to make yourself more familiar with the guard vocabulary of BJJ. You can be sure someone is going to pull this stuff on you at some point.
