Well Done.

Well done to all the guys from Mornington who made the effort to compete at this years AFBJJ Vics at MSAC. I thought it was a great turn out from our small club and from all reports performances across the board were strong. I spoke to Smithy and Jason during the day, getting regular reports on our athletes progress. Rick was the stand out performer again winning an outstanding three golds, Nick won his Junior division and gave the adults a run at his weight, Niall got two silvers reaching the final in both gi and no gi and both Travis and Peter made it to the top four and possible bronze. I was really pleased that a group of new guys made the effort to compete for the first time and hopefully will continue to do so in the future. We have a strong competition culture at our club and I think it is an invaluable learning experience to test yourself against other clubs. There is the opportunity for some road trips in the coming months and also some Dominance comps to get some valuable experience before the big one in October, the Pan Pacs. Lets see if we can get there without anyone ending up in hospital BEFORE the tournament even starts! Make sure you take the time to review any video footage of your matches in the next week or so to make any adjustments to your game. I'll bring my laptop and usb key down to class for the next few week so we can swap files.
